THE STOUT - Skponk from Graz/AUT

SKPONK! - What's that? - Punk riffs combined with ska, a dash of rock'n'roll, polyphonic singing and horns!

The Stout is most likely attributed to the skapunk genre - however, the 7 Gentlemen manage to unite different styles of music to bring ska to a new level. Various elements merge into an impressive sound, that is, with keyboard, trumpet and trombone, what The Stout stands for: Fun, exuberance and high spirits on and off the stage!

What startet in 2006 with the album "Brainwashed" was brought to perfection with "Locked and Loaded" in 2008. The Stout cover quite serious issues in their lyrics, but at the same time, their message is: "Stand Up, don't be sad, enjoy your life!"

During their numerous appearances in Central Europe they were already sharing the stage with bands like Mad Caddies (USA), The Jessica Fletchers (Nor), Emil Bulls (D), Abuela Coca (Urg), Big John (USA), Alkbottle (Aut), Curtis Jensen (Aut), Großstadtgeflüster (D), PBH-Club (Aut), Jonas Goldbaum (Aut), Spillsbury (D), Eternal Tango (Lux), Jerx (D/Aut), Rising Girl (Aut), Herbstrock (Aut), Yellow Spots (Hu), Superbutt (Hu), Los Nipples (Slo), Antimaniax (Aut), and many others.

SKPONK! – Was ist denn das? - Punkige Riffs werden mit Ska, einer Prise Rock´n´Roll, mehrstimmigem Gesang und Bläsern kombiniert!

The Stout kann man vielleicht dem Genre SkaPunk zuordnen. Jedoch verstehen es die 7 Herren unterschiedliche Musikstile zu vereinen, um nicht zuletzt Ska auf eine neue Ebene zu bringen. Verschiedene Elemente verschmelzen zu einem eindrucksvollen Sound, welcher auch durch Keyboard, Trompete und Posaune zu dem wird was The Stout ausmacht: Ausgelassenheit und Spaß auf und vor der Bühne!

Was 2006 mit dem Album „Brainwashed“ begonnen hat, wurde 2008 mit „Locked and Loaded“ zu einer vorläufigen Vollendung gebracht. The Stout behandeln in ihren Texten zwar durchaus ernste Themen, jedoch erklärt die Musik zugleich auch die Message: „Steh auf, sei nicht traurig und freu dich deines Lebens!“
